RANGE INDEXED DATA ACCESS

A big file.
One small read.

Turn JSON records into a static RIDA dataset. Its index finds a value, and the reader asks an HTTP server or CDN for that byte range.

GET STARTED

Your JSON.
Your choice of runtime.

Install RIDA for Python or run it with Node.js. Build datasets on your computer and read them locally or from your own CDN.

01 / PYTHON

One simple install.

Use Python 3.10 or newer with pip.

pip install rida-format

Open the command guide

rida --help

The package name is rida-format. In Python code, use import rida.

Encryption support is included in this install. You can build and read encrypted datasets without another install command.

02 / NODE.JS

Run it with npx.

Use Node.js 20 or newer. npm and npx come with a standard Node.js installation.

npx rida-format --help

npx downloads the package when needed and runs the command. You do not need to install it globally first.

Prefer a shorter command?

Install globally, then use the package name directly:

npm install -g rida-format
rida-format --help

Use it inside your Node.js project

npm install rida-format

Import RidaReader from rida-format in your Node.js application or server. Encryption support is included.

THE IDEA

Put the catalog with the reader.

The only file served by your CDN is the data. The index already knows where a requested value lives, so opening a dataset costs no request.

Source JSON

Objects, arrays or folders of standard JSON records.

02
